Getting started

Android

The Android SDK is in private beta. It's available by invitation, not to every account, and these docs are written for the iOS SDK — the one every approved account installs today, starting from the quickstart.

What private beta means

  • By invitation. An approved account gets the iOS SDK and the CLI. The Android SDK isn't part of that yet, and an account can't turn it on itself.
  • The same event contract. The Android SDK is built on the same event contract as the iOS SDK.
  • The SDK lifecycle. SDK support lists the versions its support window and notice periods cover. No Android version is published there yet.

Android in these docs

Every guide is written for iOS. Where one names Android — a CLI flag that takes android, or how the Android SDK judges a condition on the device — it describes the Android SDK as it is in the beta, and that can change during the beta.
